Sharing the Blessings of Ramadan, SG Distributes 1.6 Billion and 15,500 Assistance Packages to Central Java Communities

Rembang, April 28, 2022 – PT Semen Gresik (PTSG), through one of its Pilar SG (Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility) programs, distributed 15,500 staple food packages and Eid al-Fitr gifts worth IDR1.6 billion to communities in Central Java Province during Ramadan 1443 H.

The assistance distribution as part of the Semen Gresik's Blessing Gift program or Bingkisan Berkah Semen Gresik was intended for orphans, the underprivileged, the needy, and the poor affected by COVID-19, Islamic students, ulema, the ruler (umara), and mosque staff. The gift contained staple food, snacks, and sarong.

PTSG's Senior Manager of Communication and CSR Unit, Dharma Sunyata, revealed that the goal of providing assistance was to share happiness, promote community welfare, and contribute to providing benefits in preparation for this year's Eid al-Fitr.

"This assistance reflects the Company's concern for the community while also encouraging a spirit to rise together in facing the pandemic challenges. This program also serves as a means of carrying out the Ministry of SOEs' mandate and accelerating the process of National Economic Recovery," Sunyata said in his press release on Thursday (28/4).

Sunyata continued that PTSG can consistently grow and develop thanks to the trust and participation of the surrounding community. Therefore, he said, the Company shall present in their midst to regularly provide economic and social benefits.

He asserted that this activity is PTSG's annual agenda in Ramadan as a particular month to distribute social assistance to the community for their contribution to the Company's operational sustainability.

In this activity, he explained, the Company, as the distributor of the social assistance through its CSR team, collaborated with the assisted Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) and MSMEs of the Rumah BUMN Rembang (a marketing center for local products) as the provider of the social assistance.

Sunyata added that the involvement of Village-Owned Enterprises and MSMEs confirms PTSG's commitment to providing sustainable business support and community empowerment, as well as participating in the campaign for the Bangga Buatan Indonesia (local pride) program.

"We are committed to consistently contributing to the lives of the surrounding community, especially during Ramadan and during the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that with the social assistance and various programs that we have run, we can help improve their living standards," he said.
